Meet Our Speakers
Martyn completed a BSc in Economics & Finance from Lancaster University before starting his career with GSK as a graduate in 2012. His early roles across the group spanned Bioelectronics Research & Development, Supply Chain and Tech. In 2015 he landed in Consumer Marketing and relocated to Rio de Janeiro as the Sensodyne Brand Manager. In late 2016 he returned to London to help establish the Global Digital Commerce Team, has since taken on roles of increasing responsibility and now leads GSKs global digital shelf strategy.
Namita leads marketing for eCommerce at Unilever, responsible for category and net revenue management; eCommerce innovation and communication; and developing brilliant brand experiences through AI/ Voice. Prior to this, Namita has held various roles within Unilever over the last six years including leading the brand communication and retail experience for Dove globally and looking after the OOH refreshments P&L in the UK & Ireland for brands such as Magnum & Cornetto.
Namita began her career in investment banking at Citigroup in New York. Heading the Consumer Deposits Marketing division in the Global Retail Consumer Group, she launched Citi Mobile - the first downloadable, mobile banking service in the USA. Namita is a graduate of Cornell University and completed her MBA from INSEAD / WHARTON. She lives in London with her partner and 3 year old son.
Mark Tanner is the founder and managing director of Shanghai-based China Skinny. He has provided China market growth strategies and research to over 150 brands across 22 categories including Ikea, IHG,Colgate, Reckitt Benckiser and Tourism Malaysia. His views on Chinese consumers have been quoted by more than 200 international media outlets and he regularly provides commentary in publications such as Bloomberg, Reuters, FT and Forbes where he is a columnist. Mark was selected by Alibaba to anchor their promotional video introducing Single’s Day in 2016.
He authors the most read newsletter about marketing to China and is a regular keynote speaker in both China and internationally from Shanghai to Sydney, Barcelona to Beijing, Helsinki to Hong Kong and many places in between.
Prior to moving to China, Mark led the world's first unbroken paddle down the River Nile, hunted for Viking treasure in Iceland and cycled solo across Canada, mid-winter.
Michael has been instrumental in driving our company strategy over the past four years. In July 2016, Michael was asked to expand his role to become COO for Ascential. In this new role, Michael has established a set of specialist teams that partner with the Product Brands across Proposition and Product Development, Customer Insight and Research, and Partnerships and Portfolio Management including our M&A function.
Danny is an established industry thought leader with over 14 years of experience helping brands grow their online presence and sales. He spent eight of those years at Johnson & Johnson where he led their eCommerce strategy.
Gael’s career spans 15 years in retail analytics and consulting. Now Clavis’s Consulting Director for Europe, Gael’s former roles include Global Customer Development Director at Pernod Ricard; Global Catman solutions Director at Nielsen; and Senior consultant at NPD Group.
During his career, Gael has worked with some of the world’s leading brands including P&G, Unilever, L’Oréal, Danone, Mondelez, Carrefour and Mattel.
Alain Van den Eynde
Alain joined OCR in 2017 to expand the business’s European footprint. A graduate from Harvard Business School, Alain worked for three years at Amazon in the UK. During his time at Amazon, Alain served as Senior Product Manager, Retail Pricing Systems for Amazon UK and Senior Vendor Manager Outdoor Category for Amazon UK.
A graduate from London School of Economics, Corinne has been living and breathing Customer Experience for the last 18 years. As a Senior Manager at BearingPoint, she advised clients like Vodafone, Michelin, Schneider-Electric and Luxury industry players in terms of strategy, target definitions, programme management and international CRM projects scoping and implementation. She is particularly proud of what her team accomplished when defining and deploying new sales processes and tools over 14 countries in less than a year and half.
She joined L'Oréal in 2016 as Digital Project Director when the group decided to up its digital focus under Lubomira Rochet's governance. Since then, she has been helping brands and countries in improving their relational marketing approaches and in accelerating their eCommerce development.
David Gordon is PlanetRetail RNG's Research Director, Omnichannel Insights based in London. David oversees the core content teams in London and Frankfurt and drives PlanetRetail RNG's omnichannel content outputs including reports, insights, and data. He brings 25 years of experience to PlanetRetail RNG gained in retail store management, international retail development, and retail research. He graduated from Manchester Metropolitan University, England, with a BA in Retail Marketing and has an MBA from Kingston University, London.
The 2018 eCommerce Accelerator Summit builds on the successes of previous Clavis events which have earned a reputation in our community as one of a kind; they are the only industry events which are exclusive to eCommerce experts representing the region's leading manufacturers. This year, the event further evolves as Clavis collaborates with sister companies One Click Retail and PlanetRetail RNG to deliver an agenda packed with sector expertise.
